NMs Alex Betaneli and Aleksandar Stamnov tied for first place in the 46^th Western Open, held July 6-7 in Milwaukee, with 4.5 points. The Reserve section was won by Marquette University High School junior Brayden Glad with a perfect 5.0 score.
