Ramblings and ruminations on chess in Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin, the USA and the World

Relaunch

Had some new ideas. Decided to make them real. Hate IE/Win. Hate it hate it hate it hate it.

Hope you enjoy the new look. I’m aiming more for a “printed magazine” kind of appearance. This look will be here for a while, but bits of it will tweak. New color schemes, better graphics, will be available for your viewing pleasure soon.

As for features: Look for a “Basic Chess Knowledge” section soon. It will be aimed at very recent players, and it’s culled from my coaching/teaching experience. If you can spot a two-move mate and queen a pawn, it’ll probably be too basic for you.

For the rest, I promise more installments from the Patzer’s Notebook, and more maaster annotated games, from players including Bill Martz and Peter Webster. I’m going to ramp up the instructional parts of this site, but keep the focus on history. So stay tuned.
